Student Selection Officer

Valkering Impact Group connects young people from Kenya, particularly Kayole, with educational, language, and care opportunities in the Netherlands, facilitating cross-border futures. They aim to empower youth through international programs.

The Student Selection Officer will play a crucial role in supporting the Certified Caregiving Assistant training program by assessing applicants, evaluating their readiness, and ensuring that only motivated and qualified candidates progress to training. This professional part-time position is based in Nairobi (Embakasi East) and requires two days per week, with potential for increased involvement in the future.

1. Evaluate applicants for the Certified Caregiving Assistant training program.
2. Conduct structured interviews to assess eligibility, motivation, and preparedness.
3. Verify applicant information and supporting documentation.
4. Score candidates consistently using predefined criteria.
5. Prepare clear and well-reasoned selection reports.
6. Recommend a fair shortlist of qualified candidates.
7. Uphold integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism throughout the selection process.

1. Proven experience in selecting students, trainees, or program beneficiaries.
2. Strong judgment and the ability to justify selection decisions effectively.
3. A background in caregiving, nursing, hospital work, or care center operations.
4. Ability to produce consistent scoring and clear, concise reports.
5. High level of integrity, empathy, and discretion.
6. Bachelor's degree (BA/BSc/HND) qualification.
7. 5 to 10 years of relevant professional experience.
