Internship Description
The Trade Marketing Intern position involves supporting the Trade Marketing & Distribution team in Somalia and Rwanda. This entry-level role focuses on developing practical trade marketing skills while assisting with coordination, reporting, documentation, market follow-up, and execution tracking. What You Will Do
- Maintain precise trade marketing trackers, activity calendars, action logs, and performance reports covering market execution, stock visibility, customer activities, competitive updates, and agreed follow-ups.
- Support the creation of weekly and monthly updates by gathering inputs, verifying data quality, consolidating market feedback, and presenting information clearly for the Trade team.
- Assist in coordinating trade marketing activities, including following up on agency briefs, tracking approvals, managing market requests, supporting purchase orders, filing documents, and confirming delivery against timelines.
- Prepare meeting notes, action trackers, presentation inputs, customer summaries, and briefing packs to facilitate discussions with internal stakeholders, market teams, and external partners.
- Follow up on assigned actions with internal teams, market contacts, and agency partners, promptly escalating any delays, gaps, or risks to the line manager for visibility.
- Monitor and organize basic market intelligence, including competitor activities, trade feedback, execution observations, and emerging issues that could impact brand visibility, availability, or customer engagement.
- Ensure compliance with company processes by verifying that trade documents, approvals, claims, agency records, and activity evidence are complete, properly stored, and meet required standards.
- Develop practical knowledge of trade marketing, route-to-market execution, commercial systems, distributor operations, and customer engagement through active learning, feedback, and participation in team routines.
- Contribute to an organized office operating rhythm by keeping files, trackers, and follow-up routines current, organized, and accessible for the wider team.
- Provide support for ad hoc projects as assigned by the line manager.
