Internship Description
The internship provides practical experience in accounting, financial operations, and office administration within a dynamic organization. Participants will receive mentorship from experienced professionals and may gain exposure to international operations. This is a performance-based program, and interns who excel over the three-month period will be considered for a full-time role.
What You Will Do
- Assist in preparing payments by verifying invoices and supporting documentation for expenses.
- Maintain organized and accurate financial records, both digital and physical, for easy retrieval.
- Provide support for daily, weekly, and monthly treasury activities, including tracking financial movements.
- Help monitor billing and follow up with relevant teams to ensure timely collections.
- Support the maintenance of accurate financial transaction records within accounting systems.
- Assist in tracking cash movements for program funding and basic reconciliations under supervision.
- Aid in ensuring proper documentation and timely filing of statutory deductions like PAYE, NSSF, and VAT.
- Support the preparation of monthly financial reports and summaries.
- Assist in organizing documents and information required for audits.
- Collaborate with the business development team to provide basic financial and administrative support.
Requirements
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business discipline.
- Possess a basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Progress towards professional qualifications such as CPA or ACCA is an advantage.
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, with familiarity with accounting systems being a plus.
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail and a keen willingness to learn.
- Exhibit good organizational and time management skills.
- Capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Be flexible and willing to undertake tasks beyond core responsibilities when necessary.
