Job Description
The Retails Schemes Officer will be responsible for managing relationships with retail scheme customers, encompassing companies, institutions, and individual clients. A key aspect of the role is to maintain a high-quality scheme book with an acceptable Portfolio at Risk (PAR). This involves continuous monitoring of the scheme facility book for any signs of distress, proactively engaging with scheme companies and customers to ensure timely payments, and coordinating effectively with various bank departments and external parties to uphold the quality of the facility book. The officer will also implement the Retail Personal Finance business plan and strategy, ensuring efficient conversion of approved assets and supporting efforts to improve the Retail asset portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement the Retail Personal Finance business plan and strategy.
- Ensure efficient conversion of approved assets by following up with relevant parties.
- Support Retail Business Development, Monitoring, and Debt Recovery in improving the Retail asset portfolio.
- Address and resolve customer complaints effectively.
- Coordinate with support functions to grow consumer banking assets.
- Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and internal bank policies and procedures.
- Review and manage personal finance and check-off facilities daily.
- Collate weekly and monthly Retail pipeline data and track conversion rates.
- Process check-offs promptly and ensure delivery of schedules/instructions to employers.
- Monitor monthly loan and check-off payments.
- Review and reconcile all scheme accounts by the 5th and 15th of each month to assess performance.
- Prepare credit modification reports within SLA, including scheme account restructures, by the 15th of each month.
- Actively engage support functions like Credit Risk and SDU to drive efficiency and growth.
- Ensure full compliance with Credit Policy Guidelines.
- Submit performance reports and adhere to internal SLAs.
- Develop and continuously review retail banking operational policies and procedures, ensuring compliance.
- Undertake support and liaison functions between the bank, customers, and employers.
- Ensure targeted MOUs achieve desired uptake and penetration.
- Compile and share regular retail performance reports with relevant teams.
- Monitor portfolio clean-up and follow up with Credit Administration for correct system maintenance.
- Grow the bank’s market share through innovative banking products and services.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships for excellent service and loyalty.
- Coordinate sales activations and cross-sell initiatives to increase customer usage.
- Collate asset and liability commitments by Retail Relationship Managers.
- Provide daily updates on disbursed deals for Coast and up-country branches.
Requirements
- University degree in a business-related field.
- Awareness of financial services.
- Knowledge of the credit industry, legal processes, and their application in scheme administration.
- Proven relationship management experience.
- Strong public relations skills, capable of building and maintaining effective working relationships.
- Credit management experience.
- Portfolio management experience within a financial institution.
