Under the supervision of the Factory Manager, the Beef Plant Production Manager will oversee all aspects of beef production operations, ensuring production targets are achieved efficiently while maintaining food safety, quality standards, and a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop departmental goals and KPIs aligned with company strategy.
- Manage end-to-end beef processing operations.
- Review production plans and ensure production targets are met.
- Prepare annual budgets and allocate labour and resources.
- Coordinate production shifts and optimize factory costs.
- Ensure customer orders are fulfilled on time.
- Manage factory equipment and assets efficiently.
- Monitor production performance and coordinate maintenance.
- Liaise with food safety teams during audits and inspections.
- Resolve customer complaints through root cause analysis.
- Implement Kaizen and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations.
- Lead, mentor and develop production teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science & Technology or related field.
- Minimum 6 years' experience in food processing.
- At least 4 years in a management role within meat processing.
- Experience managing production teams.
- Commercial awareness.
- Microsoft Office proficiency.
- ERP systems experience is an added advantage.
