Internship Description
The Legal Claims Internship at Britam Holdings Plc involves working under the supervision of the Assistant Manager Legal Claims. The intern will be responsible for reviewing and processing all outstanding fee notes in accordance with executed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and the Advocates Remuneration Order. Key duties include following up on necessary documentation for the processing of outstanding fee notes and third-party claims, as well as assisting in the reconciliation of fee note statements with various service providers. The role also entails preparing, issuing, and reporting on statements that confirm the closure of fee note accounts. Furthermore, the intern will initiate and pursue recovery claims, including the payment of fees, prepare relevant recovery schedules and supporting documentation, and maintain a tracker for all recovery matters. Additional responsibilities include assisting with data entry, document management, information retrieval, file reviews, and other duties as assigned.
What You Will Do
- Review and process all outstanding fee notes as per executed SLAs and the Advocates Remuneration Order.
- Follow up on outstanding documentation required for processing fee notes and third-party claims.
- Assist in conducting reconciliation of fee note statements with service providers.
- Assist in preparing, issuing, and reporting on statements confirming closure of fee note accounts.
- Initiate and pursue recovery claims, including payment of fees claimed.
- Prepare relevant recovery schedules and support documentation.
- Follow up on recovery matters and maintain a tracker.
- Assist with data entry, document management, and retrieval of information.
- Assist in reviewing files and following up on documents.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, with an insurance option preferred.
- No prior experience required, but foundational knowledge of insurance processes and procedures is an added advantage.
- Computer literate.
- Knowledge of insurance regulatory requirements.
- Knowledge of insurance products.
- Sales and marketing management skills.
