Job Description

As the Lead People Partner for M-KOPA Kenya, you will serve as a strategic advisor to the leadership team, focusing on organizational design, workforce planning, and developing people strategies aligned with business objectives. Your responsibilities will include overseeing talent reviews, performance calibration, and succession planning for the Kenya client group, not just implementing existing frameworks but also building new ones. You will be the primary point for resolving employee relations issues and ensuring consistent compliance with Kenyan labor laws. Additionally, you will lead organizational change initiatives such as restructurings, transformations, and cross-functional projects as the people function evolves with the business.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Advise Kenya's leadership team on organizational design, workforce planning, and business-aligned people strategy.
  2. Own talent review processes, performance calibration, and succession planning for the Kenya client group, including framework development.
  3. Lead the resolution of employee relations issues and act as the market's escalation point, ensuring compliance with Kenyan labor law.
  4. Drive organizational change initiatives, including restructuring, transformations, and cross-functional project delivery.

Requirements

  1. 8+ years of progressive experience in HR or People Partner roles.
  2. 3-6+ years of experience advising director-level or executive leaders within fast-growth, matrixed organizations.
  3. Strong working knowledge of Kenyan labor law and the regulatory environment.
  4. Direct experience managing employee relations escalations from start to finish.
  5. Proven experience in designing and executing organizational design, workforce planning, or succession strategies, with evidence of framework development.
  6. Bachelor's Degree qualification.
