Support Electoral Trainer (SET)

The Support Electoral Trainer (SET) will primarily assist in the comprehensive training of Presiding Officers, Deputy Presiding Officers, and Clerks, covering all aspects of polling, counting, and tallying processes. Responsibilities include preparing training venues and materials, and potentially stepping in to perform duties of a Presiding or Deputy Presiding Officer when required by the Returning Officer. The SET will also supervise other individuals involved in training lower-level election officials, provide general assistance to the Returning Officer for all electoral training activities, and compile necessary training reports. Furthermore, the role involves implementing training plans developed by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission, as well as collecting, securing, and distributing all electoral training materials across various cascaded levels.

1. Assist in the training of Presiding Officers, Deputy Presiding Officers, and Clerks on polling, counting, and tallying procedures.
2. Help prepare training venues and gather necessary materials for training sessions.
3. Perform the duties of a Presiding Officer or Deputy Presiding Officer as assigned by the Returning Officer.
4. Supervise other individuals engaged in training clerks and other election officials at lower clusters.
5. Assist the Returning Officer in conducting all forms of electoral training.
6. Compile electoral training reports as directed by the Returning Officer.
7. Implement electoral training plans developed by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission.
8. Collect and ensure the security of all election training materials.
9. Distribute electoral training materials at cascaded levels.

1. Must be a Kenyan citizen, possess high integrity, and maintain non-partisanship.
2. Hold a Degree or Diploma certificate from a recognized institution.
3. Be computer literate.
4. Demonstrate proven training skills.
5. Possess the ability to manage people effectively.
6. Must be available for the entire duration of the exercise.
7. Be a resident in the specific County Assembly Ward.
