Maintainance Intern

Synnefa Green Limited is a Nairobi-based agri-tech company that simplifies farming through Smart Solar Dryers, smart greenhouses, FarmShield IoT sensors, and its FarmCloud platform. The company provides farmers with affordable, modern solutions to enhance efficiency and productivity.

This Maintenance Intern position is within Synnefa Green Limited's Technology Development and Innovation team, where the intern will work alongside Field Engineers. The primary focus of the role is to assist with installations, conduct routine maintenance, and perform site visits. A key responsibility will be to accurately maintain logs and trackers, which are essential for fulfilling service commitments. This support allows the Field Engineers to dedicate their efforts to more complex troubleshooting and technical decision-making. The role requires a balance of office-based tasks and fieldwork, operating within a dynamic team environment where the intern's contributions directly impact the operational continuity of farmers' systems.

1. Provide supervised assistance for field installations, routine maintenance, inspections, and commissioning.
2. Support site surveys and complete necessary pre-site forms, checklists, and installation readiness documentation.
3. Maintain precise maintenance logs, fault registers, SLA trackers, installation records, and service reports.
4. Collect and organize field readings and operational data, utilizing Excel for tracker updates and basic summaries.
5. Aid in troubleshooting by gathering fault information, performing approved basic checks, and promptly escalating issues.

1. Hold a Diploma or Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a similar technical field.
2. Possess 0-1 year of experience; hands-on project experience is beneficial.
3. Have a valid driving license.
4. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word, with strong skills in accurate data entry and technical documentation.
5. Be prepared to travel to field sites and work in outdoor environments.
6. Demonstrate practicality, hands-on ability, organization, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety.
7. Capable of reliably completing routine tasks with minimal supervision and escalating issues beyond personal competence.
8. An interest in solar or renewable energy, agri-tech, IoT, electrical installations, or equipment maintenance is a plus.
