Job Description
The successful UI/UX Designer will report to the Head of Digital & Innovations Factory and play a pivotal role in influencing cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, engaging, and intuitive user experiences for Co-op Bank’s digital platforms. This position involves evolving design systems, interaction models, user task flows, and UI specifications. The designer will effectively communicate user scenarios, end-to-end experiences, and screen designs to various stakeholders, collaborating closely with project, business, and technology partners to implement impactful solutions. The role emphasizes a passion for solving complex user experience challenges, deep expertise in visual design, and a commitment to enhancing brand and user experiences through creative and intuitive product design.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead design efforts on projects, making complex user experience decisions and assisting in translating business requirements into user flows and wireframes.
- Facilitate user experience design thinking sessions to identify business and technical requirements for various initiatives, ensuring successful design creation and implementation aligned with user goals.
- Develop comprehensive user experience, interaction design, and information architecture for technology and business initiatives, setting high standards for design rigor.
- Utilize various analytical techniques, such as interviews, competitor analysis, workshops, and usability tests, to gather design requirements and create site maps, user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and design specifications.
- Evaluate information from multiple sources to resolve conflicts and support interaction design prioritization and trade-off decisions.
- Define and implement process improvements for the user experience team, working with leadership to uphold user experience standards.
- Collaborate with technical leads to understand system constraints, ensuring design solutions are technically feasible, optimal, and iteratively co-evolved.
- Serve as an internal expert and industry leader on competitive design strategies, guiding the future of UI/UX within the organization.
- Define, prioritize, and manage design schedules and deliverables across multiple initiatives.
- Lead the development and advocacy of UI and UX guidelines, standards, and requirements to ensure customer-centric, intuitive, engaging, and high-quality visual experiences.
- Act as an internal consultant, staying updated on UI/UX design technologies and industry standards to provide leading-edge design interpretation and execution, offering business and technical guidance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related field or a Business-related field with relevant IT Professional qualifications. A background in Graphic or Visual Design, Digital Media Design, or other visual specialties is an added advantage.
- At least 5 years of relevant work experience in UI/UX design for mobile and web platforms, product design, and product management.
- Exceptional technical proficiency across all phases of the UX/UI design process, including user research, ideation, user flows, wireframes, high-fidelity prototypes, and detailed design documentation.
- Expert-level command of leading design software such as Figma, Adobe XD, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
- Proven track record as a creative problem-solver, leading complex projects, influencing outcomes, and building consensus across diverse stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated ability to accurately scope and estimate efforts, prioritize tasks independently, and rapidly produce deliverables in a fast-paced, iterative environment.
