World Vision Kenya is a humanitarian and social development organization founded in 1974.

Internship Description

The intern will be in charge of processing supplier payments, prepare cash advances and refunds as well as ensure that all documents are properly archived in the finance folder and any other roles that might come up. This will give the intern a good learning opportunity as they kick start their career.

What You Will Do

  1. Monitor EARO invoices mail box and process invoices on provision
  2. Review pending purchase orders on a quarterly basis.
  3. Prepare monthly creditor reconciliations and liaise with vendors to ensure prompt clearance or resolution of pending or disputed items.
  4. Liaise with The Finance officer to clear outstanding items in the Bank Reconciliation
  5. Process cash requests according to policy, processes and agreed turnaround times while coordinating with the onsite bank teller to reconcile uncollected amounts.
  6. Account Allocation of Balance Sheet A/C relating to Advances for proper Aging
  7. Manage the corporate credit card process by booking of the expenses in expense reporting systems General Ledger reconciliation
  8. Inter-office payment settlement system operations
  9. Perform account Allocation and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts as may be required
  10. Keep records of documents filed or removed using a tracking tool
  11. Ensure correct filing, legibility and proper condition of financial documents
  12. Find and retrieve information from files in response to requests from authorized internal and external users (Auditors, Government agencies)
  13. Participate in budgeting for operational costs.
  14. Participate in FFR review meetings within Finance.
  15. Prepare financial analysis as may be assigned by the supervisor.
  16. Support in Events and facilities management
  17. Any other administrative roles as Maybe assigned from time to time
  18. Participate in some finance review meetings and any other learning duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

  1. A degree in Accounting, Business Administration or the equivalent of the professional qualification in accounting with at least Knowledge in CPA or ACCA level 2
  2. Good communication and writing skills in English
  3. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with minimum supervision
  4. Computer literate (MS word & excel and other accounting software
  5. Capabilities – Christ-centred life and work, personal integrity and trustworthiness, humanitarian diplomacy.
  6. Graduated withing the last 2 years
