Internship Description
This internship at KKCO East Africa LLP is designed to provide comprehensive advisory support in accounting services. The intern will play a crucial role in preparing and maintaining books of accounts for both the firm and its outsourced clients, contributing to the delivery of precise financial insights and strategic solutions that help businesses thrive.
What You Will Do
- Maintain and prepare books of account using accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage, ensuring daily updates of approved transactions.
- Provide monthly financial management accounts.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory bodies including NSSF, NHIF, PAYE, and VAT.
- Manage petty cash operations.
- Maintain organized filing systems for all accounting documents and vouchers.
- Oversee the payment and procurement process in accordance with the finance manual.
- Prepare and ensure approval of monthly bank reconciliations by the 10th of the following month.
- Handle client billing, receipting, and account updates.
- Manage asset registers.
- Ensure effective and efficient management of all books of account.
- Review expenditures to verify accuracy, validity, and completeness of supporting documents.
- Prepare all ledgers and journals, and provide support during internal and external audits.
Requirements
- Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting from a recognized university.
- Possess CPA / ACCA Intermediate qualification.
- Demonstrate strong communication skills.
- Exhibit a willingness to learn and a commitment to delivering results and solutions.
- Possess good interpersonal skills.
- Show demonstrated leadership abilities.
