Job Description
The Company Mechanic will be responsible for the upkeep of Africa Safari Trips' safari vehicle fleet. This role involves diagnosing and resolving mechanical issues, performing routine inspections, and ensuring all vehicles are safe and reliable for operations. The ideal candidate will have experience with Toyota Land Cruisers and Toyota Alphards, enjoy technical problem-solving, and thrive in a hands-on work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and promptly resolve mechanical issues in vehicles.
- Conduct routine vehicle checks and accurately document any identified problems.
- Prepare repair estimates and maintain detailed logs of all work performed.
- Ensure all garage tools and equipment are kept clean and in safe working condition.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in vehicle maintenance.
- Education or training in Automotive Engineering, such as a Trade Test Grade I, Diploma, or higher qualification.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Toyota Land Cruisers and Toyota Alphards. Previous experience working for a tour company with its own vehicle fleet is advantageous.
- Proficiency in mechanics, wiring, or bodywork.
- Strong communication skills, flexibility, and a proven ability to solve problems quickly.
