Job Description

The Finance Manager will provide strategic financial leadership to Seven Twenty Holdings, overseeing all aspects of financial management, reporting, controls, and compliance. This role is crucial for establishing a robust financial controls environment, ensuring the integrity of ERP-integrated financial data, and delivering essential financial insights to management for informed business decisions, particularly within a manufacturing and distribution context.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Provide strategic financial direction and analysis to the Managing Director and senior management team.
  2. Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts.
  3. Develop and monitor annual budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
  4. Conduct commercial analysis, including product margin analysis, cost of production reporting, and pricing support.
  5. Present financial results and commentary to management and the Board.
  6. Design, implement, and maintain a comprehensive internal controls framework.
  7. Establish and enforce month-end close procedures, including account sign-off and period locking in Odoo.
  8. Review and approve all manual journal entries, prior period adjustments, and balance sheet reclassifications.
  9. Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements, including VAT, corporate tax, and financial reporting obligations.
  10. Manage the external audit process and serve as the primary contact for auditors.
  11. Take ownership of the Odoo accounting configuration, including chart of accounts, product category account mappings, and journal settings.
  12. Review and approve all system configuration changes affecting financial postings.
  13. Oversee the resolution of historical posting errors, ensuring correcting journals are accurate, authorized, and documented.
  14. Drive monthly reconciliation of inventory valuation reports to the general ledger.
  15. Ensure work order templates, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and manufacturing configurations are correctly set up before use.
  16. Oversee the financial management of all inventory, including raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods.
  17. Ensure monthly reconciliation of Stock Interim Delivered, Stock Interim Received, and WIP accounts.
  18. Review the weekly production WIP report prepared by the Production Manager and reconcile it to Odoo.
  19. Ensure all Bills of Materials are accurately costed and updated when input costs change.
  20. Monitor and investigate all stock variances, ensuring appropriate authorization and accounting treatment.
  21. Lead, supervise, and develop the finance team, setting clear objectives and performance standards.
  22. Identify skills gaps within the finance team and implement training and upskilling plans.
  23. Ensure clear segregation of duties within the finance function.
  24. Build a finance team culture focused on accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  1. CPA(K) or ACCA qualified.
  2. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Commerce.
  3. Minimum of 5 years of experience in finance, with at least 2 years in a senior finance management role.
  4. Strong preference for experience in manufacturing, FMCG, or industrial operations.
  5. Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as Odoo (preferred), SAP, or Sage.
  6. Advanced Excel proficiency.
  7. Strong financial modelling skills.
  8. Expertise in cost accounting and inventory finance.
  9. Proficient in management reporting.
  10. Strong leadership abilities.
  11. High level of integrity.
  12. Analytical mindset.
  13. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced operational environment.
