Job Description
The Senior Pension Administrator will report to the Assistant Manager Client Relations and is responsible for the comprehensive administration of retirement benefits schemes within the CIC Life Retirement Benefits Department. This includes ensuring all activities adhere to regulatory standards and stakeholder expectations. The role also involves providing superior services to foster strong business relationships and ensuring the fund is managed in full compliance with existing legislation.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain high standards of customer service by responding to client requests promptly and effectively.
- Deliver excellent services for retirement benefits to build strong business relationships.
- Ensure the retirement fund is managed and administered in full compliance with current legislation.
- Process payments, member statements, and prepare accounts and other benefits for Defined Contributions, Defined Benefits, and Hybrid Schemes according to set standards.
- Retain business by offering alternative products, cross-selling, and following up on new business leads.
- Maintain accurate records for all retirement benefits.
- File Quarterly Return of Contributions with the Retirement Benefits Authority every quarter.
- Market the organization's products.
- Prepare timely summary reports for the retirement benefits business as required.
- Attend Board of Trustees meetings as the administrator, take minutes when necessary, and provide general advice to the Trustees.
- Attend the Annual General Meeting of members and present the Fund Administrators Reports.
- Ensure compliance with the Retirement Benefits Authority (RBA) and KRA for various pension schemes, including RBA licensing.
- Guide new schemes through the registration process with RBA and KRA.
- Process pensioner payrolls, prepare life certificates, and P9 forms.
- Assist in drafting and updating the Trust Deed & Rules/Deed of Adherence/Service Level from time to time.
- Provide member education to Trustees and members, and prepare quality reports for AGMs and Quarterly Trustee Meetings.
Requirements
- Hold a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Insurance, Actuarial Science, Statistics, or Mathematics.
- Possess a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience, with at least two (2) years in a similar role.
- Be making progress towards a professional certification such as AIIK, FSRI, or ACII.
