Trade Development Representative

HCS Affiliates Group is a comprehensive human resources and management consultancy organization, headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya.

This role focuses on frequent channel visitations to enhance retailer awareness and boost the turnaround of SIM cards and mobile money float. The representative will also be responsible for ensuring optimal visibility and effective merchandising at points of purchase for Sales Service Outlets (SSOs) and T-Kash agents. The position reports directly to the Area Sales Manager.

1. Identify, recruit, and map Sales Service Outlets (SSOs) and agents, specifically targeting mobile money outlets and high-traffic retail stores.
2. Conduct regular visits to SSOs and agents following agreed-upon route plans.
3. Provide all necessary business tools for transactions at SSO and agent outlets and train SSOs and T-Kash Agents on operational processes.
4. Deliver Anti-Money Laundering (AML) training to agents and Know Your Customer (KYC) process training to SSOs for SIM registration.
5. Monitor and enforce the 1.5x stock rule for agents regarding float and stock cover, ensuring SSOs maintain adequate SIM card stock for new registrations and activations.
6. Develop and maintain merchandising standards by providing and placing merchandising materials at SSO and agent outlets.

1. A Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 1 year of experience in a sales and distribution role, preferably within the FMCG or telecommunications sectors.
3. Strong customer focus.
4. Excellent influencing and negotiation abilities.
5. Proven networking and partnership-building skills.
6. Strong analytical thinking capabilities.
