Job Description

The Revenue Team Lead will be responsible for providing dedicated leadership to the hospital's Revenue Cycle Unit. This includes overseeing critical functions such as patient financial clearance, verifying insurance details, managing pre-authorizations, ensuring accurate claims documentation, and maintaining effective communication with payers. The primary objective is to facilitate timely reimbursements, significantly reduce claim rejections, enhance overall revenue assurance, and ensure the uninterrupted continuity of patient care services.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead the daily operations of the Revenue Cycle function, coordinating activities across Billing, Accounts Receivable, and Case Management.
  2. Translate Finance Department objectives into actionable work plans, allocate tasks, and establish performance expectations for Revenue Cycle staff.
  3. Monitor key performance indicators such as pending bills, unbilled encounters, outstanding claims, debtor aging, rejected claims, and collection performance.
  4. Drive revenue assurance initiatives, ensuring that all clinical and non-clinical services are accurately billed and captured.
  5. Review waivers, billing adjustments, credit notes, and write-offs to ensure strict compliance with Hospital policy and delegated authority.
  6. Coach, supervise, and facilitate the development of Billing Officers, Accounts Receivable Officers, and Case Management Officers.
  7. Prepare and submit routine reports to the Chief Finance Officer detailing billing, collections, and claims performance.

Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field.
  2. CPA Part II qualification.
  3. Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in healthcare finance, revenue cycle management, medical billing, or accounts receivable.
  4. At least 2 years of supervisory experience.
  5. Previous experience in revenue cycle management, medical billing, claims/accounts receivable, or healthcare finance leadership roles.
  6. ICPAK membership is an added advantage.
