Job Description
The Team Leader for Bancassurance DSR is responsible for strategically leading Bancassurance sales, expanding the portfolio, and achieving balance sheet growth. This involves ensuring the sales team performs optimally and operates cost-efficiently. The role focuses on maximizing profitability, strengthening customer relationships, and fostering a performance-driven culture within the sales team. The incumbent will deliver sustainable revenue growth while strictly adhering to regulatory and company compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive the achievement of sales targets by growing and retaining customers across all product lines.
- Plan, execute, and monitor Bancassurance sales strategies, focusing on specific segments and customer needs-based selling.
- Develop and refine sales toolkits, client materials, and training programs to align with various target propositions.
- Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly performance reviews with sales staff to ensure continuous engagement and target achievement.
- Manage costs effectively while generating revenue.
- Implement effective HR standards and strategies, manage succession planning, and retain key talent.
- Motivate, coach, and energize sales staff to deliver excellent results.
- Engage the team in ongoing training to address development needs and implement training roadmaps.
- Establish processes to prevent mis-selling, misrepresentation, and fraud, ensuring adherence to customer data confidentiality.
- Ensure the team complies with all KYC guidelines, local regulatory requirements, and best practices.
- Ensure the team adheres to anti-money laundering procedures and reports any suspicious activity to the Principal Officer.
- Track and monitor Turnaround Times (TAT) for the segment and collaborate with stakeholders to meet targets.
- Provide ongoing individual coaching and training to sales staff to achieve sales goals, retain members, and deepen customer relationships.
- Continuously review and appraise sales staff performance, taking immediate corrective action when necessary.
- Ensure sales staff are motivated for maximum productivity.
- Cultivate a team culture that promotes mutual support for overall productivity.
- Arrange, conduct, or recommend appropriate training for branch staff to enhance their effectiveness.
- Ensure discipline and adherence to the staff code of ethics by sales staff.
- Manage and execute planned leave schedules for branch sales staff.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, Banking, Economics, or a related field from a recognized institution.
- Certificate of Proficiency is mandatory.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in sales management within the Insurance Industry.
- In-depth knowledge of bancassurance products, insurance regulations, and the banking environment.
- Demonstrated ability to drive business growth, portfolio expansion, and profitability.
- Proficiency in computer/IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- General knowledge of banking processes.
- Experience in business development, negotiation, and relationship management.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with individuals and groups at all organizational levels, both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent customer service skills, including the ability to respond to inquiries or complaints effectively and timely.
- Ability to take initiative and prioritize tasks, with strong time-management, organization, problem prevention, and problem-solving skills.
- Basic analytical ability combined with active listening skills.
- Ability to work accurately with close attention to detail, demonstrating strong scrutiny and examination skills.
