HOD Safety and Security

Mnarani Beach Club is a resort offering a full range of facilities for guest convenience and pleasure, specializing in water sports and luxurious spa treatments. It provides a vibrant environment for relaxation and activities by the water's edge.

The Head of Department for Safety and Security at Mnarani Beach Club is responsible for ensuring the comprehensive safety and security of all guests, employees, and the entire hotel property. This includes proactive crime prevention, thorough investigation of incidents, and the effective management of all security systems such as patrols, surveillance, access control, and master keys. The role also involves establishing and maintaining security measures, conducting staff training for emergency procedures, and chairing health, safety, and firefighting committees. The HOD will regularly inspect security protocols, liaise with local policing structures, and supervise the security team, while staying updated on security trends. Additionally, the role participates in monthly stock control and fuel management.

1. Ensure the overall safety and security of guests, staff, and hotel property.
2. Lead crime prevention efforts and conduct investigations.
3. Manage all security systems, including patrols, surveillance, restricted area control, and master key monitoring.
4. Implement and maintain security measures across the property.
5. Train staff on emergency procedures.
6. Chair Health & Safety and firefighting committees.
7. Conduct regular inspections of security measures.
8. Hold regular security meetings and maintain liaison with local police.
9. Supervise the in-house, outsourced, and rapid response security teams daily.
10. Stay informed about current security trends and updates.
11. Participate in monthly stock control and management of fuel purchasing and distribution.
12. Attend resort HOD and Operations meetings to provide security feedback.

1. Possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in senior management within a Security department, ideally in hospitality or a hospital setting.
2. Hold all necessary regulatory certificates and qualifications for the Security industry in Kenya.
3. Be prepared to undergo security vetting.
4. Be a Kenyan citizen, preferably based in Kilifi or surrounding areas, as this is a live-out position.
5. Have no criminal record.
6. Be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
7. Demonstrate fluency in both English and KiSwahili.
8. Provide traceable and contactable references from previous employment.
