IT Manager

The IT Manager will be responsible for the comprehensive oversight of the organization's information technology landscape. This includes managing and maintaining IT infrastructure, networks, systems, and applications to ensure their reliable availability, performance, and security. The role involves developing and implementing IT policies, procedures, and controls, ensuring all IT operations comply with regulatory and organizational requirements. Key areas of focus include cybersecurity management, access controls, data protection, backups, and disaster recovery planning. The manager will monitor and address IT risks, vulnerabilities, incidents, and system disruptions, while also coordinating system upgrades, implementations, and technology projects. Vendor management, license administration, and technology contract oversight are also part of the role. Regular system and security reviews will be conducted, with identified issues promptly addressed. Maintaining accurate IT documentation, asset registers, and system records is essential, as is supporting internal and external audits by providing necessary IT evidence. The manager will develop and periodically test business continuity and IT disaster recovery plans, lead and supervise IT staff, and provide technical guidance. Regular reports on IT performance, risk, and compliance will be prepared for management.

5. Manage cybersecurity, access controls, data protection, backups, and disaster recovery.
6. Monitor and manage IT risks, vulnerabilities, incidents, and system disruptions.
7. Coordinate system upgrades, implementations, maintenance, and technology projects.
8. Manage IT vendors, service providers, licenses, and technology contracts.
9. Conduct regular system and security reviews and ensure identified issues are addressed.
10. Maintain proper IT documentation, asset registers, and system records.
11. Support internal and external audits by providing required IT documentation and evidence.
12. Develop business continuity and IT disaster recovery plans and coordinate periodic testing.
13. Lead and supervise IT staff and provide technical guidance where required.
14. Prepare regular IT performance, risk, and compliance reports for management.

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 5 years of relevant IT experience.
3. Proven experience working in a regulated environment is mandatory.
4. Experience in banking, insurance, SACCOs, financial institutions, or similarly regulated organizations is highly preferred.
5. Strong knowledge of IT governance, cybersecurity, risk management, and data protection principles.
6. Experience supporting regulatory and internal audits.
7. Good understanding of business continuity and disaster recovery planning.
8. Strong leadership, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
