Job Description
This role involves assisting the Presiding Officer in setting up and managing the polling station and counting room. Key duties include demarcating the polling area, displaying posters, managing voter queues, guiding voters, verifying voters by checking for indelible marks, identifying voters, issuing stamped ballot papers, and assisting with vote sorting during counting. The clerk will also perform other assigned official duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in setting up the polling station and counting room.
- Demarcate and display posters at the polling station.
- Control voter queues and guide voters to their respective polling stations.
- Confirm voters have not previously voted by inspecting fingers for indelible marks.
- Identify voters before allowing them to cast their ballots.
- Issue stamped ballot papers to duly identified voters.
- Assist the Presiding Officer with vote sorting during the counting process.
- Perform any other official duties as assigned by the Presiding Officer.
Requirements
- Must be a Kenyan citizen of high integrity and non-partisan.
- Must have attained a KCSE Aggregate C- and above.
- Must possess good character.
- Must be available for the entire duration of the exercise.
- Must be a resident of the County Assembly Ward.
