Job Description

The Registered Nurse position at Haven Health Care involves delivering safe, compassionate, and patient-centered nursing care. Key duties include conducting thorough patient assessments, continuous monitoring, and accurate documentation of patient conditions. Nurses are responsible for administering prescribed medications and treatments, promptly reporting any changes in patients' health status, and assisting in emergency care and resuscitation when necessary. Maintaining precise nursing and patient records is crucial, as is implementing strict infection prevention and control measures. The role also requires participation in health education and patient counseling, working collaboratively with doctors and other members of the multidisciplinary team, and engaging in quality improvement activities, audits, and continuous professional development. Additional nursing duties may be assigned by the Nursing Department.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Provide safe, compassionate, and patient-centered nursing care.
  2. Conduct patient assessment, monitoring, and documentation.
  3. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
  4. Monitor and report changes in patients' conditions promptly.
  5. Assist in emergency care and resuscitation when required.
  6. Maintain accurate nursing and patient records.
  7. Implement infection prevention and control measures.
  8. Participate in health education and patient counseling.
  9. Work collaboratively with doctors and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
  10. Participate in quality improvement activities, audits, and continuous professional development.
  11. Perform other nursing duties as assigned by the Nursing Department.

Requirements

  1. Hold a Diploma in Nursing from a recognized institution.
  2. Possess at least 2 years of clinical experience.
  3. Must be registered with the Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK) and hold a valid practicing license.
  4. Valid BLS/CPR certification will be considered an added advantage.
  5. Previous clinical experience in a hospital setting is preferred.
  6. Demonstrate good communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
  7. Show a strong commitment to patient safety, professionalism, and ethical nursing practice.
  8. Be able to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
