Job Description

Excelon Limited is seeking a commercially driven After-Sales & Workshop Operations Executive to lead and manage a thriving automotive workshop. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all workshop activities, leading the technical team, managing customer relationships, coordinating accident repairs, and actively generating new business to drive revenue and performance. This role requires a professional capable of managing busy workshops, large vehicle fleets, high-volume service operations, or accident-repair environments.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Oversee daily workshop operations.
  2. Coordinate vehicles from reception and assessment through repair, quality control, and final delivery.
  3. Plan and assign workshop jobs to technicians, monitoring their progress.
  4. Ensure timely completion of all jobs within agreed turnaround times.
  5. Monitor repair quality and minimize rework.
  6. Ensure proper utilization of workshop equipment, tools, and resources.
  7. Serve as the primary contact between customers and the workshop.
  8. Understand customer vehicle repair and service needs.
  9. Prepare and coordinate quotations, job cards, and work orders.
  10. Keep customers updated on repair progress, costs, and completion timelines.
  11. Professionally handle customer complaints and resolve service-related issues.
  12. Build strong customer relationships to encourage repeat business and referrals.
  13. Coordinate accident-related repairs from initial assessment to completion.
  14. Liaise with customers, insurance companies, assessors, and other relevant parties.
  15. Follow up on estimates, approvals, and repair authorizations.
  16. Ensure all accident repair documentation is accurate and current.
  17. Monitor accident-repair jobs for timely completion.
  18. Actively generate new workshop business.
  19. Identify opportunities for servicing and repairing corporate and fleet vehicles.
  20. Develop and maintain relationships with potential and existing customers.
  21. Pursue opportunities in fleet servicing, accident repairs, mechanical repairs, and related services.
  22. Build a robust pipeline of workshop jobs.
  23. Directly contribute to increasing workshop utilization, sales, and revenue.
  24. Supervise workshop staff and technicians.
  25. Allocate work and monitor productivity.
  26. Promote discipline, teamwork, and professional conduct.
  27. Monitor individual and team performance.
  28. Identify training and development needs for staff.
  29. Ensure staff adhere to operational and safety requirements.
  30. Monitor workshop sales, revenue, and profitability.
  31. Track jobs received, completed, and pending.
  32. Monitor turnaround times and workshop productivity.
  33. Control wastage, unnecessary delays, and rework.
  34. Prepare regular reports on workshop operations and performance.

Requirements

  1. Diploma or Degree in Automotive Engineering, Motor Vehicle Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  2. At least 5 years of relevant experience in automotive workshop operations, after-sales, fleet management, or a similar environment.
  3. Proven experience supervising technical or workshop teams.
  4. Practical knowledge of vehicle servicing, maintenance, and repair processes.
  5. Experience in accident repair and insurance-related processes.
  6. Experience in customer service or service advisory roles.
  7. Demonstrated ability to generate business and grow workshop revenue.
  8. Strong understanding of job cards, quotations, job costing, and workshop processes.
  9. Valid driving license.
  10. Strong workshop operations management skills.
  11. Solid automotive technical knowledge.
  12. Expertise in service advisory.
  13. Ability to coordinate accident and insurance repairs.
  14. Proven business development and sales capabilities.
  15. Experience in fleet customer management.
  16. Excellent customer relationship management skills.
  17. Strong staff supervision abilities.
  18. Effective negotiation and communication skills.
  19. Proficient in problem-solving.
  20. Strong commercial awareness.
  21. Excellent planning and organization skills.
