Job Description
The Commercial Project Manager will be a key member of BURN's Project Management Office, responsible for managing projects from inception to completion. This involves developing comprehensive project plans, overseeing budgets, facilitating communication among teams and stakeholders, and coordinating project activities. The role requires a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks, ensuring projects align with organizational goals, and providing support for project management tools and processes across different functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive project plans, outlining scope, timelines, resources, and milestones, and integrate multiple schedules into a master project schedule.
- Create and maintain detailed summary-level schedule reports, including Gantt charts and milestone charts, for critical path analysis and resource allocation.
- Plan the scope of work and required resources, ensuring alignment with project objectives.
- Develop and manage project budgets throughout the project lifecycle, collaborating with the head of function for approvals and tracking costs.
- Facilitate effective communication within project teams and with stakeholders across various departments.
- Share monthly project progress reports, conduct weekly status update meetings, and engage in daily follow-ups with execution teams.
- Identify and engage with key internal and external stakeholders, communicating project progress, risks, and issues clearly and promptly.
- Follow up on work progress and deliverables development.
- Coordinate with other managers to effectively manage project staff and optimize resource allocation.
- Monitor, track, and control project outcomes, resolving issues, conflicts, dependencies, and critical path deliverables.
- Manage project and program issues and risks, mitigating their impact on the baseline.
- Track, record, and act on project issues, organizing logistics, and delegating work to project teams.
- Track Purchase Requests (PRFs) related to projects in collaboration with the procurement department and initiate various PRFs with project execution teams.
- Create project plans, schedules, and task workflows on Smartsheet, and provide support and training to other functions on its utilization.
- Offer project portfolio updates to inter-departmental project tracking tools.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Project Management, Business Management, Operations, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management support, with a proven track record of successful cross-functional project delivery.
- PMP, CAPM, and PRINCE2 certification is highly desirable.
- Prior experience with common office and project management tools such as MS Project or Smartsheet.
- Demonstrated understanding of the project life cycle.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills and an ability to navigate complexities.
- Proactive in identifying and addressing risks.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders effectively and build strong professional relationships.
- Proficient in Excel and other project management tools.
- Action-oriented and able to drive results, demonstrating a proactive approach to achieving cross-functional project objectives.
