Job Description

The Operations Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting asset finance operations, ensuring high standards of customer service. Responsibilities include actively cross-selling bank products to introduce new business and meticulously collecting all necessary bank charges to prevent income leakage. The assistant must ensure all application documents are complete, conduct thorough KYC verification, and perform comprehensive searches. It is critical to execute CRB and other relevant checks for all applications and customers, promptly notifying relationship managers. The role demands zero tolerance for data capture errors, search errors, or incomplete mandatory fields that could lead to application rejections. Achieving set turnaround times, particularly an initiation phase target of 0.1 days, is essential for customer and dealer satisfaction. The assistant will also manage the department's stationery requirements, ensuring adequate supply, and maintain 100% adherence to all policies, procedures, and statutory guidelines. A satisfactory audit, compliance, and risk rating is expected, with all audit issues closed within the quarter of identification or agreed timeframes, and no repeat findings.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Introduce new business to the bank through cross-selling initiatives.
  2. Ensure all necessary bank charges are collected to prevent income leakage.
  3. Verify completeness of applications, conduct KYC, and perform thorough searches for all applications under review.
  4. Execute CRB and other relevant checks for all applications and customers, notifying relationship managers on the same day.
  5. Maintain accuracy in data capture and searches, avoiding errors that lead to send-backs.
  6. Achieve set turnaround times for the initiation phase (target 0.1 days) to ensure customer and dealer satisfaction.
  7. Manage and requisition departmental stationery, ensuring adequate supply at all times.
  8. Adhere strictly to all policies, procedures, and statutory guidelines.
  9. Ensure satisfactory audit, compliance, and risk ratings, closing audit issues promptly with no repeat findings.
  10. Update customers, dealers, and relationship managers daily on pending application documents.
  11. Contribute to a robust internal customer satisfaction rating by embodying NCBA Values.
  12. Deliver exceptional customer service to all stakeholders.
  13. Complete at least 40 hours of learning/training annually through various activities.
  14. Comply with the leave policy regarding block leave and minimum carry-over.
  15. Maintain high personal performance standards.
  16. Keep competency assessments and development plans for self up-to-date and action-based.

Requirements

  1. Hold a Bachelor's Degree in a business-related field or another relevant discipline.
  2. Possess professional qualifications in business-related fields.
  3. Have at least one year of working experience in a banking environment.
