Job Description
The WMS-Clerk at DHL Kenya's Menengai site plays a crucial role in assisting the Site Lead and Inventory Controller to ensure efficient warehouse operations. Key responsibilities include the execution of daily warehouse tasks such as managing goods receipts, accurate stock posting, proper put-away procedures, and maintaining storage and safety standards. The role is integral to product handling, picking, and upholding stock integrity within the warehouse environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct daily briefing and debriefing sessions (Toolbox meetings) before commencing operations.
- Receive goods, verifying their condition and quantity from suppliers, and ensure proper sign-off by drivers and security personnel.
- Perform real-time data entry of received stocks into the WMS (JDA) upon confirmation of receipt.
- Take full responsibility for product handling, picking, storage, and maintaining stock integrity.
- Control stock loss and provide explanations for any non-conformity or stock variance to the Site Lead for investigation and escalation.
- Regulate access to the warehouse for non-warehouse staff.
- Ensure standard quality products are maintained in warehouse zones, and that the WMS system is aligned with physical storage quantities.
- Maintain clear and accurate record-keeping for daily reports, productivity metrics, warehouse resource lists, and filing.
- Ensure safety at all workstations, aiming for zero Lost Time Accidents (LTA).
- Undertake other duties as necessitated by business needs that may not be explicitly outlined in this role profile.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management.
- Proven experience of 4 years in warehouse operations.
- Diploma in a Supply Chain related field.
- Proficient use of MS Excel.
- JDA WMS competency is an added advantage.
- Familiarity with warehouses, systems, and other logistics software.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Analytical mindset with problem-solving ability.
