Warehouse Picker

Platinum Outsourcing & Logistics (E.A) Ltd, established in 2010, specializes in providing outsourcing and logistics services. They also operate Chania Cleaners, a subsidiary offering cleaning, sanitation, pest control, waste management, and landscaping services.

The Warehouse Picker is tasked with the precise selection, verification, handling, and preparation of FMCG products for shipment. This includes ensuring all items align with customer orders, stock requirements, and established company procedures. A critical aspect of the role is maintaining exceptional accuracy, meticulous attention to detail, and careful product handling. The picker must also strictly follow all health, safety, hygiene, and quality protocols to guarantee that correct products and quantities are delivered punctually and in optimal condition.

1. Accurately pick products from designated warehouse locations using provided tools like picking lists or scanners.
2. Verify product details including descriptions, SKU numbers, batch/lot numbers, quantities, and expiry dates.
3. Ensure products are picked following FIFO/FEFO principles and company stock-rotation guidelines.
4. Handle cosmetics, personal-care, and other FMCG products with care to prevent damage, leakage, or contamination.
5. Cross-check picked items against the order document before moving them to the dispatch area.
6. Pack and arrange products appropriately for transport, maintaining presentation and integrity.
7. Report any damaged, leaking, expired, short-dated, or incorrectly labeled products to the supervisor.
8. Maintain accurate records of stock movements and report discrepancies promptly.
9. Keep warehouse aisles, picking locations, and workstations clean, organized, and hazard-free.
10. Adhere to company policies on personal hygiene, product handling, health and safety, and housekeeping.
11. Observe all warehouse security procedures to prevent stock loss or unauthorized movement.
12. Assist with stock counts, cycle counts, and inventory checks as required.
13. Support other warehouse activities such as loading, offloading, replenishment, and put-away.
14. Operate warehouse equipment safely and responsibly according to training.
15. Meet productivity and accuracy targets while upholding quality standards.
16. Immediately report safety incidents, product-quality concerns, or equipment faults.
17. Collaborate effectively with various teams to ensure smooth order fulfillment.

1. Minimum Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) or an equivalent qualification.
2. Prior experience in a warehouse, distribution center, FMCG, cosmetics, manufacturing, or retail setting is beneficial.
3. Experience with picking lists, barcode scanners, handheld terminals, or warehouse management systems is preferred.
4. Basic understanding of stock control and inventory procedures.
5. Ability to accurately read and interpret product codes, quantities, labels, and picking documents.
6. High attention to detail and accuracy.
7. Good numerical and counting skills.
8. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
9. Good physical coordination and capacity for repetitive picking tasks.
