Junior Mechanical Engineer

This contractor specializes in plumbing, drainage, solar water heating, and HVAC installations for commercial and specialized buildings. People Foco Agency Ltd, an HR consultancy, is recruiting for this position.

This role involves supporting a mechanical services contractor with various aspects of project management, including planning, site coordination, cost management, and ensuring the successful delivery of mechanical installation projects. The contractor specializes in plumbing, drainage, solar water heating, and HVAC systems for commercial and specialized buildings.

1. Prepare and monitor project work schedules using Microsoft Project
2. Coordinate site activities to ensure timely completion and high-quality workmanship
3. Interpret construction drawings and identify discrepancies against Bills of Quantities (BOQs)
4. Prepare Bills of Materials (BOMs) and upload them to the approved system
5. Monitor monthly project costs and prepare valuations within set timelines
6. Ensure materials comply with approved specifications and schedules
7. Manage site materials and stock, and submit monthly stock reports
8. Support estimation and costing in coordination with the quantity surveying team

1. Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering
2. At least one year of relevant industry experience
3. Knowledge of plumbing and firefighting systems
4. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Project, and MS Office
5. Ability to interpret architectural, structural, and building services drawings
6. Practical knowledge of construction materials and equipment
7. Strong communication, organization, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
8. Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure with minimal supervision
