The Paediatric Critical Care Lecturer coordinates learning activities for the Paediatric PCCN program, delivering both theoretical and clinical instruction to ensure students develop essential skills. This position involves monitoring student performance to maintain high instructional standards, developing and reviewing curriculum in accordance with Nursing Council requirements, and conducting assessments through theory and practical tests to evaluate assignments and overall student progress. The lecturer is also expected to maintain clinical proficiency through regular practice, commit to continuous professional development, and actively participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, and research activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate learning activities within the Paediatric PCCN program.
- Provide theoretical and clinical instruction to help students master essential skills.
- Monitor student performance to uphold instructional standards.
- Develop and review curriculum in line with Nursing Council requirements.
- Conduct theory and practical tests to evaluate assignments and overall performance.
- Maintain clinical capabilities through regular practice.
- Take ownership of professional development.
- Actively participate in quality programs, clinical audits, and research.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN).
- Higher Diploma in Paediatric Critical Care Nursing.
- Certificate as a TVET trainer (an added advantage).
- Certificate in EPALS/PALS (an added advantage).
- Valid Nursing Council of Kenya Practise licence.
- Nursing Council of Kenya Registration Certificate.
- Minimum of one (1) year working experience as a Tutor.
- Certificate of good conduct.
