IT Internship

The IT Intern will provide essential support to the Information Technology Section, focusing on the maintenance of computer systems, networks, and software applications, alongside delivering general ICT support services. This role is designed to offer the successful candidate valuable practical experience in ICT operations and contribute significantly to the efficient delivery of technology services across the organization.

1. Provide initial technical support to staff for issues related to hardware, software, network connectivity, and other system problems.
2. Assist with the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of computer hardware, operating systems, and various software applications.
3. Support network administration tasks, including resolving connectivity issues and managing user accounts.
4. Help set up, maintain, and troubleshoot ICT equipment such as printers, scanners, CCTV systems, and biometric devices.
5. Conduct routine system checks and report any technical abnormalities, potential security threats, or other ICT-related concerns.
6. Assist in data backup, recovery, and cybersecurity initiatives to safeguard the organization's information integrity and security.
7. Maintain accurate ICT inventory records, asset registers, and documentation for equipment.
8. Support the documentation of ICT procedures, preparation of user guides, and compilation of technical reports.
9. Aid in software testing, system upgrades, and the implementation of new technology solutions.
10. Participate in assigned ICT projects and digital transformation initiatives.
11. Ensure adherence to established IT policies, procedures, and information security requirements.
12. Perform additional duties as assigned by the IT Manager.

1. Hold a Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Networking and Telecommunications, or a closely related field.
2. Possess basic knowledge of computer hardware installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
3. Be familiar with both Windows and Linux operating systems.
4. Understand fundamental networking concepts, including LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, Wi-Fi, routers, and switches.
5. Be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and have basic knowledge of database and data management.
6. Have knowledge of software installation, configuration, updates, and maintenance processes.
7. Understand cybersecurity best practices and standard IT support/helpdesk procedures.
8. Possess basic knowledge of cloud technologies and collaboration tools.
9. Familiarity with CCTV systems, biometric devices, printers, scanners, and other IT peripherals is considered an advantage.
