Trade Development Representative (TDR) - Nakuru Down Town

HCS Affiliates Group is a human resources and management consultancy based in Nairobi, Kenya, recruiting on behalf of a prominent telecommunications provider.

The Trade Development Representative will focus on regular channel visitations to enhance retailer engagement and drive the uptake of SIM cards and mobile money float. A key aspect of the role is to ensure effective visibility and merchandising strategies are implemented at all points of purchase for both SSOs and T-Kash agents.

1. Effectively identify and recruit new Agents and SSOs, specifically targeting mobile money outlets and high-traffic retail stores, and accurately map their locations.
2. Conduct regular visits to SSOs and Agents following agreed-upon route plans.
3. Provide all necessary business tools for transactions at SSO and agent outlets and deliver comprehensive training to SSOs and T-Kash Agents on operational processes.
4. Train agents on Anti-Money Laundering (AML) procedures and SSOs on Know Your Customer (KYC) processes related to SIM registration.
5. Monitor and enforce the 1.5x stock rule for agents, ensuring SSOs maintain adequate stock of SIMs for new registrations and activations.
6. Develop and uphold merchandising standards by ensuring merchandising materials are available and properly displayed at SSOs and Agent outlets.

1. Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
2. At least 1 year of experience in a sales and distribution role, preferably within the FMCG or Telecommunications sectors.
3. Strong customer focus.
4. Proven influencing and negotiation skills.
5. Ability to network and build effective partnerships.
6. Developed analytical thinking skills.
