Short-Haul Driver

Victory Farms Kenya is the world's fastest-growing aquaculture company, operating in the agriculture and agribusiness sector. It is a mission-oriented organization focused on sustainable fish farming.

The Short-Haul Driver will play a crucial role in Victory Farms Kenya's supply chain by ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of fresh fish and other company goods between logistics centers and various branches across Kenya. This involves maintaining product quality and integrity throughout transit, adhering to strict road safety and government regulations, and upholding company standards for vehicle care and driving practices. The position is operational and requires a dependable, safety-conscious individual dedicated to seamless delivery experiences.

1. Safely and efficiently transport fresh fish, inputs, and other company goods between Victory Farms’ logistics centers and branches across different regions in Kenya.
2. Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness and compliance with safety standards.
3. Promptly report mechanical faults, damages, accidents, or safety concerns, and strictly adhere to vehicle repair and preventive maintenance schedules.
4. Maintain cold-chain integrity and ensure proper handling of perishable products during transportation.
5. Plan and adjust travel routes using navigation tools like Google Maps to avoid congestion, closures, or delays.
6. Ensure assigned vehicles are adequately fueled, clean, and operational at all times.
7. Assist with loading and offloading products and materials, ensuring proper handling procedures are followed.
8. Accurately complete all delivery documentation, including trip logs, fuel records, delivery notes, and inspection reports.
9. Comply with all traffic laws, NTSA regulations, company policies, and safety procedures.
10. Maintain regular communication with logistics and dispatch teams regarding trip progress, delays, or incidents.
11. Safeguard company assets, cargo, and equipment during transit.
12. Practice defensive driving techniques and uphold high safety standards at all times.
13. Support emergency response procedures in case of breakdowns or accidents.

1. Minimum KCSE certificate; a Diploma or higher qualification is an advantage.
2. Valid Driving License with a minimum of Class C.
3. At least 3 years of proven experience in commercial driving.
4. A clean driving record and strong knowledge of Kenyan road networks and regulations.
5. Ability to effectively use navigation applications such as Google Maps.
6. Basic mechanical knowledge is an added advantage.
7. Ability to follow instructions and work effectively within a team.
8. Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
9. Good communication skills and a positive, proactive work attitude.
10. Willingness to travel long distances and work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends when required.
