Long-Haul Driver

Victory Farms Kenya is a rapidly growing aquaculture company focused on sustainable fish farming. It plays a critical role in the supply chain by ensuring efficient transportation of goods.

This operational role is crucial for supporting the company's supply chain by ensuring goods are transported safely, efficiently, and according to company standards. The driver will be responsible for maintaining high vehicle care standards, complying with road safety and government regulations, and practicing safe driving. Dependability, safety-consciousness, and comfort with long-distance travel are essential for ensuring a seamless flow of products throughout the Victory Farms network.

1. Safely and efficiently transport fresh fish, inputs, and other company goods between Victory Farms' logistics centers throughout Kenya.
2. Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness and compliance with safety standards.
3. Promptly report mechanical faults, damages, accidents, or safety concerns and strictly adhere to vehicle repair and preventive maintenance schedules.
4. Maintain cold-chain integrity and ensure proper handling of perishable products during transportation.
5. Plan and adjust travel routes using navigation tools to avoid congestion, closures, or delays.
6. Ensure assigned vehicles are always adequately fueled, clean, and operational.
7. Assist with loading and offloading products and materials, ensuring proper handling procedures are followed.
8. Accurately complete all delivery documentation, including trip logs, fuel records, delivery notes, and inspection reports.
9. Comply with all traffic laws, NTSA regulations, company policies, and safety procedures.
10. Maintain regular communication with logistics and dispatch teams regarding trip progress, delays, or incidents.
11. Safeguard company assets, cargo, and equipment during transit.
12. Practice defensive driving techniques and uphold high safety standards at all times.
13. Support emergency response procedures in case of breakdowns or accidents.

1. Minimum KCSE certificate; a Diploma or higher qualification is an advantage.
2. Valid Driving License with a minimum class CE.
3. At least 3 years of proven experience in long-haul or commercial driving.
4. Clean driving record and strong knowledge of Kenyan road networks and regulations.
5. Ability to effectively use navigation applications such as Google Maps.
6. Basic mechanical knowledge is an added advantage.
7. Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
8. Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
9. Good communication skills and a positive, proactive work attitude.
10. Willingness to travel long distances and work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends when required.
