Job Description

As an International Accountant at Trócaire, you will play a crucial role in supporting the organisation's mission by ensuring sound financial practices across various country programmes. This roving position involves providing expert financial management, internal controls, and risk management guidance, working closely with local teams to address financial challenges and maintain high standards of accountability. The role requires a proactive individual capable of adapting to diverse contexts and contributing to positive, lasting change.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Provide clear technical advice and operational support to country teams, especially in dynamic or high-pressure environments.
  2. Analyze complex financial information to identify risks or weaknesses.
  3. Collaborate with colleagues to develop practical and proportionate solutions.

Requirements

  1. Qualified Chartered or Certified Accountant.
  2. Strong experience (at least 2 years) in financial management, internal controls, risk management, and financial reporting.
  3. Ability to work confidently across diverse cultures and build trusted relationships with finance and programme colleagues.
  4. Excellent communication, judgment, problem-solving skills, and flexibility.
  5. Willingness and ability to travel regularly and adapt to varying country programme needs.
  6. Demonstrated integrity, resilience, and a collaborative approach.
  7. Strong commitment to Trócaire’s ethos and values.
  8. Bachelor's Degree.
