Job Description

This role involves overseeing business growth and revenue generation within an assigned zone. Key aspects include acquiring new customers for GSM and Airtel Money services, expanding the distribution network, and managing retail operations. The manager will also be responsible for supervising a field sales team to ensure effective market penetration and sales performance.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Implement and adopt effective distribution strategies to boost sales within the designated zone.
  2. Achieve all key performance indicators set for the role.
  3. Plan and execute sales programs focused on market penetration, relationship building, and market share growth to meet required extraction per site.
  4. Foster internal collaboration, team development, and ensure the implementation of key management and sales routines.
  5. Manage the team and allocated resources effectively, ensuring discipline and adherence to established working standards.
  6. Support the achievement and compliance with Airtel Kenya's branding and merchandising standards in the assigned market.
  7. Profile, pitch, recruit, and manage Franchise partners and Distribution outlets to enhance market penetration and product availability.
  8. Escalate any trade or network issues to the Line Manager and follow up for resolution.

Requirements

  1. Minimum of a Diploma or Graduate degree.
  2. 4 to 6 years of hands-on experience in distribution and retail indirect sales, preferably within the telecommunications or FMCG industry.
  3. Goal-oriented with demonstrated leadership skills, capable of leading a disciplined and effective team.
  4. Intermediate knowledge of business finance principles.
  5. Good business acumen with strong data analytical skills.
  6. Good presentation and effective communication skills.
  7. Proven ability to drive operational excellence through effective project execution, stakeholder management, and timely delivery of business objectives.
  8. Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  9. Flexibility to work in any region across the country.
