Job Description
The Financial Advisor will be responsible for conducting thorough financial assessments to understand clients' investment goals, risk tolerance, and financial situations. They will develop personalized, Shariah-compliant investment strategies aligned with Islamic financial principles and client objectives. This includes recommending a diversified portfolio of Shariah-compliant investment products such as Sukuk, Islamic funds, and equities. The role requires staying updated on the latest developments in Islamic finance and investment markets, monitoring client portfolios, and making necessary adjustments. The advisor will also educate clients on Shariah-compliant investing principles, provide guidance on ethical and social investment considerations, and collaborate with internal teams to ensure compliance. Building and maintaining strong client relationships and participating in business development activities are also key aspects of this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive financial assessments for clients to understand their investment goals, risk tolerance, and financial situation.
- Develop personalized and Shariah-compliant investment strategies aligned with Islamic financial principles and client objectives.
- Recommend a diversified portfolio of Shariah-compliant investment products such as Sukuk, Islamic funds, and equities.
- Stay informed about the latest developments and trends in Islamic finance and investment markets.
- Monitor and regularly review client portfolios, making adjustments based on market conditions and changing client circumstances.
- Educate clients on Shariah-compliant investing principles and guide them on ethical and social investment considerations.
- Collaborate with internal research and compliance teams to ensure investment recommendations adhere to Shariah guidelines and regulations.
- Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships through regular communication and proactive engagement.
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions, investment decisions, and portfolio performance.
- Participate in business development activities to attract new clients and grow the firm’s Shariah-compliant investment advisory services.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Islamic Banking, or a related field; a Master’s degree or relevant certification (e.g., Certified Islamic Finance Executive) is advantageous.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Financial Advisor, with a proven track record in Shariah-compliant investment advisory.
- In-depth knowledge of Islamic finance principles, including Shariah-compliant investment instruments and regulations.
- Strong analytical skills to assess financial data and market trends, translating insights into actionable investment strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build client rapport and explain complex financial concepts clearly.
- Proficiency in financial software and tools for portfolio analysis and investment research.
- Demonstrated ethical and professional behavior consistent with Islamic financial ethics and values.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team, managing multiple clients and priorities.
- Fluency in Somali and Swahili is a plus for communicating with diverse clients.
