Accountant

Kmatt Supermarket is a retail business seeking an experienced accountant with a strong background in manufacturing and production to join their team.

The Accountant will be responsible for preparing and maintaining accurate financial statements, monitoring production costs, and managing inventory accounting. This role involves preparing and analyzing cost reports, supporting budgeting, and ensuring adherence to financial controls and tax regulations. The accountant will also collaborate with various teams to ensure precise financial reporting.

1. Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and accounting records.
2. Monitor production costs, including cost of goods manufactured and cost of sales.
3. Prepare and analyze production cost reports and budgets.
4. Manage inventory accounting, stock valuation, and reconciliations.
5. Monitor raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
6. Conduct cost analysis to identify opportunities for improving cost efficiency.
7. Perform reconciliations for bank accounts, suppliers, customers, and the general ledger.
8. Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
9. Prepare timely management reports and monitor expenditures.
10. Ensure compliance with internal financial controls, tax regulations, and statutory reporting requirements.
11. Collaborate with production, procurement, stores, and management teams for accurate financial reporting.

1. Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
2. Possess CPA (K), ACCA, or an equivalent professional accounting qualification (an added advantage).
3. Have at least 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing or production environment.
4. Demonstrate strong knowledge of inventory accounting, production costing, and cost control principles.
5. Be proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
6. Exhibit excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
7. Possess high integrity, accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to meet strict reporting deadlines.
