The English Editor will be a key member of the editorial team, responsible for applying strong editorial and language skills to educational book publishing projects. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of the Competency-Based Education (CBE) curriculum to ensure the development of high-quality and compliant learning materials.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with external publishers for license printing and co-publishing opportunities.
- Edit and proofread educational manuscripts to a high editorial standard.
- Ensure content is accurate, clear, engaging, and compliant with curriculum requirements.
- Work closely with authors, reviewers, and designers throughout the publishing process.
- Conduct thorough content and fact checks, ensuring consistency across titles.
- Support the development of quality learning materials aligned with the CBE curriculum.
- Source new manuscripts and develop innovative publishing projects.
Requirements
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in English, Literature, Education, or a related field.
- Possess at least 4 years of experience in book publishing, preferably in educational publishing.
- Demonstrate strong English language, editing, proofreading, and fact-checking skills.
- Have a good understanding of the CBE curriculum and its specific requirements.
- Exhibit strong attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Have experience collaborating with authors, reviewers, designers, and other publishing teams.
- Possess knowledge of current trends and best practices within educational publishing.
