Job Description
Progressive Credit, a non-deposit-taking microfinance institution operating with branches across Kenya, is actively seeking a qualified Accountant to join its team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate financial reports, ensuring timely management accounts, and performing various reconciliations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate financial reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Ensure management accounts are delivered within 5-10 working days after month-end.
- Complete reconciliations for bank, mobile money, loan portfolio, and general ledger.
- Maintain precise accounting for the loan portfolio, including interest, fees, provisions, and write-offs.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and tax requirements.
- Support budgeting processes and variance analysis.
- Maintain robust internal controls.
- Assist with audits and ensure all necessary documentation is prepared.
- Monitor cash flows and provide accurate forecasts.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
Requirements
- Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Economics, or a related field.
- Possess a CPA(K) qualification, which is mandatory.
- Have 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Experience in the microfinance sector is considered an advantage.
