Job Description
The Laundry Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of laundry operations, maintaining quality, cleanliness, and efficiency. This role involves leading the laundry team to ensure the highest standards of linen care and guest service are met within the hotel's operations, focusing on efficient laundry processes and adherence to hygiene and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, supervise, train, motivate, and evaluate laundry staff.
- Oversee and manage all laundry operations, including washing, drying, ironing, pressing, and folding techniques.
- Ensure the highest standards of linen care and guest service are consistently met.
- Implement and manage linen and uniform control, stock management, and inventory procedures.
- Safely and efficiently operate and monitor commercial laundry equipment.
- Apply knowledge of fabric care, stain removal, and proper chemical usage and handling procedures.
- Identify and report any damaged, stained, or worn-out linen and uniforms.
- Maintain accurate laundry records, usage reports, and inventory controls.
- Ensure adherence to hygiene, health, and safety standards within the laundry department.
Requirements
- Certificate or Diploma in Laundry Operations, Hospitality Management, Housekeeping, or a related field.
- Training in laundry operations, fabric care, or textile management is an added advantage.
- 2–5 years of experience in laundry operations, housekeeping, or a similar hospitality environment.
- Proven experience as a Laundry Attendant, Senior Laundry Attendant, or Laundry Supervisor, with demonstrated ability to supervise and coordinate laundry staff.
- Strong knowledge of laundry operations, including washing, drying, ironing, pressing, and folding techniques.
- Good understanding of fabric care, stain removal, and proper chemical usage.
- Knowledge of linen and uniform control, stock management, and inventory procedures.
- Ability to operate and monitor commercial laundry equipment safely and efficiently.
- Knowledge of laundry chemicals, dosage, and safe handling procedures.
- Ability to identify and report damaged, stained, or worn-out linen and uniforms.
- Strong understanding of hygiene, health, and safety standards.
- Ability to maintain accurate laundry records, usage reports, and inventory controls.
