Principal Software Engineer

As a Principal Software Engineer and architect within the R&D team, this hands-on role focuses on designing complex, large-scale data-oriented new product concepts, deeply engaging with Generative and Agentic AI throughout the product development lifecycle. The successful candidate will work in lean, high-performance pods to architect software solutions for rapidly evolving product concepts, heavily utilizing Mastercard and other datasets, while experimenting with and iterating on AI-native ways of working. The position requires deep experience in designing large-scale customer-facing applications with significant data dependencies and expertise in leveraging AI in software architecture.

1. Extensive experience as a Software Engineer or Full Stack Developer.
2. Proficiency across a variety of programming languages and frameworks.
3. Demonstrated experience designing distributed, mission-critical, highly available systems capable of supporting millions of daily transactions.
4. Deep understanding of resiliency, fault tolerance, and scalability patterns.
5. In-depth knowledge of Public Cloud platforms, containers, and container orchestration.
6. Proven ability as a hands-on technical leader who builds trust, develops talent, and inspires teams.
7. High-energy, detail-oriented, and proactive individual capable of functioning under pressure with minimal supervision.
8. Passion for continuous learning and enjoyment of challenging opportunities.
