Job Description
The Integration Microservices Engineer is a technical position responsible for the analysis, design, development, and technical support of NCBA Digital Business Middleware platforms. This includes managing all integration points with the Core Banking System, various Bank Channels, external Partners, and other Third-party systems. The role is critical for implementing business strategy through GITA by ensuring seamless information flow across diverse Bank Systems. Key aspects of the role include prototyping skills, strong interpersonal abilities, the capacity to work effectively within an agile team, managing competing priorities, designing solutions as part of a broader roadmap, and providing hands-on support for implemented technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, analyze, develop, deliver, and continuously improve all Systems Integration processes.
- Provide second-level support for escalated issues from the IT Operations and IT Applications Teams.
- Ensure adherence to internal policies and procedures for the development and management of NCBA Integration Platforms and Middleware repositories, following ITIL and other best practice standards.
- Support, maintain, and audit existing service lifecycle artifacts to agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Effectively manage relationships and protocols with other technical platform owners and internal business owners.
- Advise internal customers on technology improvements to ensure the realization and maximization of business objectives.
- Design, develop, and continuously improve the Bank's Integration Platforms, including Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) and Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA).
- Enforce internal policies and procedures for the management of Software Applications, adhering to ITIL and other best practices.
- Provide expert guidance on second-level escalations concerning the bank's Integration Platforms to the teams managing IT platforms daily.
- Apply knowledge of key technologies, concepts, and platforms such as Oracle SOA and Java.
- Ensure the availability of services within the agreed SLAs.
- Collaborate with business and product development teams to define functional and technical requirements and propose suitable solutions.
- Effectively manage relationships and protocols with third-party partners involved in service delivery.
- Provide general technical advice and guidance to users and stakeholders regarding in-house developed Software Applications.
- Make efficient use of source control and bug tracking systems.
- Ensure that all assigned bank information technology platforms keep pace with technological innovations and developments to protect investment in technology.
- Evaluate, plan, implement, and maintain assigned work packages in Integration Projects within agreed time constraints.
- Provide input into the development and maintenance of the Business Continuity Plan and Data Security Plan for Integration Platforms to guarantee continuous service availability.
- Perform research and development to evaluate emerging technologies and their potential to optimize the platform.
- Unit test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability.
- Monitor and manage service user complaints to ensure the maintenance of the highest standards of service.
