Job Description

The ICT & Data Officer will be responsible for the technical aspects of the program, including supporting the smooth operation of Peek Technology, identifying areas for improvement, and collaborating with the M&E officer to enhance data collection tools. The role also involves promoting accurate data reporting by assisting with data entry into KHIS and other government systems, and leading training for Peek and KHIS users to ensure precise data capture and management. Additionally, the officer will prepare and provide data for regular review meetings under the guidance of the Programme M&E.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead the setup, configuration, administration, and performance management of Peek Technology.
  2. Provide primary technical support to project teams and remote users, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
  3. Guarantee the security, integrity, and proper use of project devices and data.
  4. Maintain current knowledge and expertise in relevant Peek technical products and digital health technologies.
  5. Support the program's technical operations and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  6. Collaborate with the M&E officer to develop, review, and enhance eye, ear, and hearing data collection tools in line with project and data quality standards.
  7. Promote accurate and timely program data reporting by assisting with data entry into KHIS and other government systems.
  8. Lead Peek and KHIS training and user onboarding to ensure accurate data capture, management, and reporting.
  9. Prepare and provide data for regular data review meetings, guided by the Programme M&E.

Requirements

  1. Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field.
  2. Possess at least three years of experience in IT support, helpdesk, or technical support, including proficiency in ticketing systems like Jira and experience supporting users of digital applications, preferably in a field-based setting.
  3. Be familiar with web-based applications, data platforms, and digital reporting systems.
  4. Have public health experience, specifically in eye health, ear and hearing, or digital health programs.
  5. Experience working with Peek Capture or similar digital health/data collection platforms is an advantage.
  6. Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
  7. Be willing and able to work extensively in the field and travel to project implementation sites.
  8. Possess a good understanding of inclusive programming, disability inclusion, safeguarding, and protection principles.
  9. Be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with county government, donors, health facilities, community structures, and implementing partners.
