Trade Specialist

Stanbic Bank Kenya is a financial institution established in 1958, offering a range of banking and financial services.

The Trade Specialist will be responsible for developing and implementing Trade Finance solutions specifically designed to address clients' unique needs in risk management and working capital financing. The primary objective is to achieve revenue targets and strengthen Stanbic Bank's reputation as a leading provider of Trade Finance solutions in Kenya, particularly within the Corporate Investment Bank (CIB) division.

1. Manage and deliver the full scope of Trade Finance solutions for a portfolio of local, Pan-African, and Multi-national Corporate Investment Bank (CIB) clients.
2. Lead the development of Trade Finance solutions tailored for the client franchise in Kenya.
3. Optimally solve clients' specific needs related to risk management and working capital financing.
4. Achieve set revenue targets for Trade Finance solutions.
5. Promote the CIB brand, positioning Stanbic Bank as the preferred provider for Trade Finance solutions in Kenya.

1. A Post Graduate Degree in Business Commerce, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
2. Professional certification in Trade Finance is required.
3. 8-10 years of relevant experience.
4. Over 10 years of general banking experience, with a significant portion in corporate banking and corporate lending.
5. Demonstrated working knowledge of financial analysis and credit risk management principles.
6. Substantial Trade Finance experience, primarily in a Sales or Transactor role.
7. Experience with Trade and Lending Structures, both on and off-balance sheet, with a preference for complex products like Structured Trade and Supply Chain Finance.
8. Multi-sectoral knowledge across key sectors of the national economy.
9. Strong behavioural competencies including articulating information, convincing people, developing expertise, generating ideas, making decisions, providing insights, and team working.
10. Proficient technical competencies in deal structuring and appraisal, deal negotiation, economic research, financial analysis, local market knowledge, and strategic planning and reporting.
