Retail Sales Trainee

Bank of Africa Kenya Limited is a financial institution offering banking services. It was founded in 1989 and is located in Nairobi, Kenya.

The Retail Sales Trainee will be responsible for managing a portfolio of retail customers, focusing on enhancing product penetration, profitability, and customer satisfaction. They will develop new relationships with retail clients to increase the number of retail accounts and build a high-quality asset and liabilities book for the branch, in line with set budgets. The trainee will also participate in marketing activities within the business area to maximize business growth and continuously analyze target market databases guided by market demographics. Additionally, they will ensure timely and accurate processing of customer requests and loan applications according to established SLAs and procedures, complete all necessary documents for loan applications, and prepare proposals for credit analysis and approval as per the bank’s credit policy. The role also involves continuous learning and growth in product/service knowledge and enhancing cross-selling skills to improve client product equipment rates.

1. Manage a portfolio of retail customers, focusing on increasing product penetration, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
2. Develop new relationships with retail clients to increase retail accounts and build a quality asset and liabilities book for the branch, aligning with set budgets.
3. Participate in marketing activities within the business area to maximize business growth.
4. Continuously analyze target market databases shared by the line manager, guided by market demographics/sectors.
5. Ensure timely and accurate processing of customer requests and loan applications according to laid down SLAs and documented procedures.
6. Complete all documents related to loan applications and prepare proposals for credit analysis and approval as per the bank’s credit policy.
7. Enhance product/service knowledge on bank products.
8. Improve cross-selling skills to boost client product equipment rates.

1. Possess 3 years of experience.
2. Hold a Diploma qualification.
3. Hold a University Degree, preferably from an institution recognized by the Commission for University Education.
