Area Depot Product and Operations Manager

The Area Depot Product and Operations Manager at APM Terminals (part of Maersk) holds direct accountability for achieving optimal financial results for the Area's Depot P&L. This position involves leading both the product strategy and operational execution for depots throughout the Area. Key aspects of the role include guaranteeing safe and compliant site operations, maximizing depot utilization and yard efficiency, enhancing profitability, and advocating for the depot product within Area leadership discussions.

1. Manage and drive the Area's Depot P&L to ensure strong financial performance and meet set targets.
2. Lead depot product development and operations across the Area, ensuring effective implementation aligned with regional priorities.
3. Oversee safe, compliant, and efficient site operations across all depot locations.
4. Optimize depot utilization, yard flow, and operational performance to boost productivity and profitability.
5. Maintain financial health and profitability through careful cost management, operational efficiency, and resource allocation.
6. Represent depot product and operational interests in Area leadership meetings, ensuring alignment with relevant stakeholders.
7. Spearhead and support transformation initiatives aimed at improving depot performance, operational effectiveness, and business outcomes.
8. Monitor performance using agreed KPIs and Bowler charts, identify discrepancies, and initiate corrective actions with stakeholders.

1. Proven experience in depot, terminal, logistics, shipping, or related operations, with significant exposure to operational and commercial performance management.
2. Demonstrated ability to manage P&L and financial performance, translating business objectives into actionable operational strategies.
3. Strong understanding of safe and compliant site operations, utilization, yard flow, and productivity management.
4. Excellent financial and analytical skills, capable of using performance data to pinpoint issues, prioritize actions, and enhance profitability.
5. Strong stakeholder management and influencing abilities, particularly within a matrix and cross-functional organizational structure.
6. Proven capability to lead change and transformation, embedding sustainable operational improvements.
7. Leadership skills to align teams towards achieving performance, safety, service, and financial goals.
8. Bachelor's Degree qualification.
9. Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
