Humanities Editor

The Humanities Editor will be a key member of the editorial team, responsible for developing and refining educational content. This position requires a professional with a background in educational publishing and expertise in the Competency-Based Education (CBE) curriculum. The editor will ensure that all published materials meet high standards of accuracy, engagement, and curriculum compliance.

1. Identify and acquire new manuscripts, and propose innovative publishing projects.
2. Edit and proofread educational manuscripts in the humanities to ensure high editorial quality.
3. Verify that content is accurate, relevant, engaging, and adheres to curriculum standards.
4. Collaborate effectively with authors, reviewers, and designers throughout the entire publishing process.
5. Conduct thorough content research, fact-checking, and quality assurance checks.
6. Maintain consistency, coherence, and appropriate progression of content across various titles.
7. Contribute to the creation of high-quality learning materials aligned with the CBE framework.

1. Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field, with a specialization in Geography and History.
2. Possess at least four years of experience in book publishing, preferably within the educational sector.
3. Demonstrate strong skills in editing, proofreading, research, and fact-checking.
4. Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of the Competency-Based Education (CBE) curriculum and its requirements.
5. Be capable of developing and reviewing content that is accurate, engaging, and learner-centered.
6. Show keen attention to detail and the ability to manage work effectively under strict deadlines.
7. Have experience collaborating with authors, reviewers, designers, and other publishing team members.
8. Stay informed about current trends and best practices in educational publishing.
