AQA Officer – Strategic Management

Zetech University is an educational institution founded in 1999, located in Kiambu County, Kenya, offering various academic programs.

The AQA Officer at Zetech University is responsible for upholding and improving the quality of academic offerings and services. This involves ensuring that all programs and services adhere to the university's internal quality standards as well as external regulatory requirements. The officer will work to maintain high academic integrity and operational excellence across the institution.

1. Monitor and evaluate academic programs and courses to ensure they meet institutional quality standards.
2. Support the AQA Manager in conducting regular reviews of academic processes and outcomes.
3. Analyze data related to student performance, feedback, and academic quality.
4. Ensure academic programs and courses comply with internal and external regulatory requirements.
5. Assist in preparing documentation for accreditation processes and quality audits.
6. Provide support to academic staff on quality assurance matters, including training on best practices for assessments and course delivery.
7. Prepare and maintain records of quality assurance activities, such as meeting notes, reports, and audit results.
8. Organize meetings or workshops to engage academic staff in discussions about quality assurance processes.
9. Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisors.

1. A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Education Management, Curriculum Development, Total Quality Management, Management Science, Operations Management, or a relevant field from an accredited university. A Master’s degree in these fields is an added advantage.
2. A professional qualification in Quality Management.
3. At least three (3) years of experience in teaching, academic administration, or student customer service.
4. Membership in a relevant and recognized professional body.
5. Good understanding of the Universities Act, CUE standards and guidelines, TIVETA, and other relevant regulatory body standards and guidelines.
6. Familiarity with the development, implementation, and management of curriculum from Diploma to PhD level.
7. An understanding of Learning Outcomes (LO) and Competence-Based (CBC) approaches to teaching and learning.
8. Familiarity with Pedagogical and Andragogical Approaches and the requisite Monitoring and Evaluation.
9. Working knowledge of online and face-to-face teaching and examination systems and familiarity with Teaching Taxonomies and rubric-building.
10. Registered or registrable for a PhD.
