Job Description

The Human Resources Officer at SBM Bank Kenya is responsible for providing comprehensive operational support to the HR Department. This includes coordinating recruitment processes, ensuring the accuracy of HR documentation, and managing timely data entry within HR systems. Key areas of support encompass recruitment administration, onboarding new hires, maintaining staff files, and ensuring the quality of HR data. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive, with a strong interest in building a career in Human Resources and Talent Acquisition.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Coordinate recruitment administration and filing processes.
  2. Schedule and coordinate interviews between candidates, hiring managers, and interview panels.
  3. Prepare and distribute interview confirmations, calendar invites, and relevant documentation.
  4. Communicate with candidates throughout the recruitment process.
  5. Maintain and accurately update recruitment trackers and data.
  6. Facilitate job postings across internal and external platforms.
  7. Coordinate candidate documentation during recruitment and onboarding.
  8. Support new hire onboarding coordination and documentation.
  9. Assist with the digitization and clean-up of HR records.
  10. Organize, update, and maintain employee files and HR documentation.
  11. Ensure staff records are complete, accurate, and filed according to standards.
  12. Perform data entry and updates within HR systems and databases.
  13. Conduct basic data quality checks to identify missing or inconsistent employee information.
  14. Support the preparation of basic HR and recruitment reports.
  15. Assist in tracking recruitment metrics and onboarding progress.
  16. Provide general administrative support to HR colleagues and other bank employees.
  17. Engage with background check vendors.

Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Business Administration.
  2. CHRP certification or a Higher Diploma in Human Resource Management.
  3. Minimum of 3 years of experience in Human Resources Management, with a preference for experience in Talent Acquisition and HR Services.
  4. Demonstrated interest in Human Resources and Talent Acquisition.
  5. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  6. Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  7. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
  8. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  9. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Outlook.
  10. Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism.
  11. Proactive attitude and eagerness to learn.
  12. Comfortable working with various systems, trackers, and data.
