This role involves comprehensive oversight of construction projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to high-quality standards. The manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising all project phases, maintaining strict adherence to safety and regulatory requirements, and effectively managing project teams and stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes across multiple projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, deliverables, and milestones.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to create realistic construction schedules.
- Prepare and manage project budgets to ensure efficient cost control.
- Negotiate pricing and contracts with suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors.
- Lead and supervise on-site teams, ensuring alignment with project requirements.
- Provide direction to site supervisors, contractors, and workers.
- Identify project risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.
- Enforce safety standards and conduct routine safety inspections and audits.
- Maintain quality standards throughout all construction phases.
- Review blueprints, architectural drawings, and specifications for accuracy and feasibility.
- Serve as the primary contact for clients, providing regular updates on project progress.
- Facilitate communication among all project stakeholders, including clients, architects, engineers, and contractors.
- Ensure all necessary permits, certifications, and inspections are obtained and kept current.
- Comply with local building codes, zoning laws, and construction regulations.
- Address challenges such as delays, design changes, and site conditions promptly to minimize disruption.
- Oversee the completion of punch lists and final inspections.
- Prepare final project reports, including lessons learned and areas for improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Expert proficiency in project management software such as MS Project, Procore, or relevant ERP systems.
- Strong mastery of construction scheduling, resource leveling, and industry-standard workflows.
- Deep understanding of building codes, construction law, and safety compliance (e.g., OSHA or local regulations).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in delivering projects on time and within budget through meticulous site management.
- Proven ability to effectively lead large teams of contractors and subcontractors.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for high-level stakeholder engagement and reporting.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple sites simultaneously while meeting high-pressure deadlines.
- Analytical mindset with a track record of efficiently resolving complex on-site issues.
